I am so thankful we all fall into the same category: we are all sinners saved by grace. Because of this, no one has room to throw rocks or stones at another, or do they? Since we all have baggage, skeletons in a closet or two, shortcomings and hangups; I believe the best thing for us all is to remember the words my grandmother used to repeat, “But by the grace of God there go I.” It took a few years before I truly understood the extent of that saying but now I’ve embraced the FACT that on any day and at any time, things in my life could change to look like those I’ve judged unaware and sentenced to doom. If you think about it for a minute, it’s very IMMATURE of us to think we can be the judge and jury. The Bible says we are not to judge another man’s servant and it goes on the say GOD is the judge. But what about the saints judging spiritual matters? Aren’t we suppose to discern? Isn’t that a form of judging? A friend asked me this question because she was concerned about her own walk in Christ. My response to her was simple. “If your heart intentions are focused on the manifestation and not the soul of another, you are judging.” Discernment is a spiritual girft requiring us to zone in on the source of a matter and not the manifestion of it. We cannot sentence anyone to Heaven or Hell, but we can pray for the WILL of God to be done. So the next time you find yourself talking about your brother or sister, or the next time you hear a rumor repeated as the gospel; remember but by the grace of God it could be you and pray for God’s mercy to reign. We are ONE family and a family that PRAYS together, stays together.
