The entrepreneur knows that nothing intimidates God. This Spirit drives the entrepreneur 24/7 and no matter how difficult or bleak a situation may seem, faith overrides it. In order to walk by faith, you must believe. Faith is not just a word to casually throw around, instead faith is the substance that gives you life. Faith believes the Word of God. Faith is truth and faith brings action. If you never step out of the boat (Peter), you’ll never know the abilities God have placed inside you just waiting to be activated by YOUR faith. Your biggest dream is possible, if only YOU believe.

Take a look around, the world is changing as you read. Fortunately, some people have already turned the page and activated their faith by launching out into the deep with a new business venture, relocating, brainstorming ideas or just writing a plan. Whatever it is, the point remains that some have surrendered to their entrepreneural Spirit and stepped out on faith. So what’s stopping you? The brain between your two ears is the only hurdle you need to overcome. But that’s easy to do. The Bible says, think on things above and look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith. Remember, it’s not you doing the work, it’s Christ. As long as what you do glorifies, honors and is in obedience to His Word, He promised you the desires of your heart and that He would not withhold any good thing from you. So go ahead, push the envelop a little bit and “do you” for a change. The rewards are unbeatable!

Are you one of those people that desires a better life but feel the world and everyone in it are working against you? Do you suffer dissappointment from setbacks and past failures. I recognize your present state. I was once you. I lost my beloved grandmother, my son and had to leave my profession due to a life threatening illness. But I learned valuable principles during those times that have helped shape who I am today. From my grandmothers death, I learned to live life with no excuses and never take for granted TODAY! When I lost my son at eight months (Devon), I learned to trust even more that God knows best and even when I don’t understand Him, His plans for my life are centered around His love for me. And last, when I had to resign from my career as an educator/administrator, I learned what “I Do,” does not define who “I Am.”

To assist you in facing life’s challenges and using them to shape your life, I’ve spelled out the following steps:

  • take responsibility for your own life and stop throwing yourself a pity party
  • make a decision to “get through” life’s challenges
  • change your thinking about rejection/failure and look at it as an opportunity to improve and try again
  • forgive yourself and forgive others—-NO BUTS, just do it!!!
  • don’t compromise WHO you are for WHAT you want….always stay true to yourself
  • surround yourself with positive people and be that person to others

Blessings

For years we’ve heard the old saying, “it’s not who you know, it’s what you know or vice versa, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” Well, to really hit a point home today, I’m going to tell you that WHO is more important these days than WHAT. In order to reach your ultimate goals, you’re going to have to craft deeper relationships with people. I’m not talking about the new term, “networking,” because if you’re like me, you’re all networked out. The time has passed for cold calls, blast emails and passing out business cards to strangers. This new age call for a new approach and that approach is already within your sphere of influence (SOI).

WHO do you know? WHO knows you already and have in some shape or form, contributed to your goals or ventures? That’s the relationship (WHO) you should be fostering so that the best form of advertising WORD OF MOUTH can soon attribute to your success. So how do you cultivate the WHO you already know?

1.  make friends FIRST

2. help your friends SECOND

3. be sincere and watch your goals, dreams, aspirations come to light

One of the most essential elements I’ve learned in my eleven years as an entrepreneur is that once the paradigm shifted from me, myself, my business, my goals and my success to helping others, assisting friends and finding solutions to others problems—I reaped the benefit. That lesson is true now more than ever. My WHO and your WHO is WHAT it’s all about. So take a moment today or tonight and think long and hard about WHO you know that knows you and have supported you. Again, these are the individuals that will propel you forward. Sketch out a plan and work hard to implement it around your WHO SOI. Remember, those WHO fail to plan, plan to fail.

Blessings to you

RCESSION DOES NOT MEAN DEPRESSION! It is no secret that the state of our economy is horrid. Times are presently difficult for everyone, yet history tells us that this period has reared its ugly head before and some have come out smelling like roses. The question is, “Which person are you going to be?” Are you going to be like David and conquer your giant or are you going to wave the flag of defeat by buying into the news of doom and gloom, blame wallstreet or the government? During this time, weak competition gets eliminated and that translates into more opportunity today for YOU! Now is the time to dust your dreams and color outside the lines of your hopes and aspirations. All things are possible, IF you believe.

Statistics show that FEAR is the first obstacle people face when launching into the deep. (But in Christ their is NO fear)

Secondly, Lack of focus trips up progress. So take baby steps to achieve your short and long term goals.

Thirdly, 19% of US citizens lack confidence and belief in themselves. That translates into lack of VISION. You must realize that the opportunity that awaits you, keeps you up at night, stays on your mind throughout the day and continues to evolve: IS FOR YOU & with Christ, YOU ARE MORE THAN ABLE!

Fourth, 36% fall into the deadly trap of procrastination or lack of action. (NOW faith is…)

I learned a valuable lesson about myself during my last two years of college. I learned that “failure” pushed me one step closer to “success.” My vision of failure changed and I gained confidence to refuse viewing failure as FINAL. Instead, I started paying attention to all of the history behind success and learned that champions are made because they continue to dream, continue to act and continue to believe in themselves.

Carpe diem

Juggling 48 hours worth of work into one 24 hour day is a daily miracle. Oftentimes, before the alarm goes off, our brain has categorized our first two hours of up-and-at’em before the trash truck comes. At 9:00 am we’re mentally checking off duties in order to be prepared for lists that start after lunch and the day continues in this fashion even as you’re walking through the front door to greet your family. So here’s a few tips on how to spend your time on WHAT MATTERS MOST.

First: STOP procrastinating in the following ways

* talking too much on the phone * preparing instead of taking action * not saying “no” * doing unproductive tasks * waiting until late in the day to start tasks * putting things off until tomorrow * failing to ask for help * answering every call * and not having a clear objective or goal * surfing/networking online

Ultimately, you are in control of your own actions. You must define your purpose, prioritize and be productive daily in order to spend time doing what matters most to you. By adopting the following behaviors, you should be on the right track to success: * do NOT take phone calls until your priorities have been met * do the most important things in the AM * tackle hard issues in the AM * go to be early so that you’ll have energy in the morning to do your best work * and do not plan your work, but work your plan.  You should have a goal every day.  All successful people, in any area of life, are so because they understand that they are the only ones responsible for their quality of life.

ARE YOU READY?

ARE YOU READY?

Focus your attention on the promise of God. Keep His Word in front of your eyes and in your ears until you can see it coming to pass with the eyes of your spirit. Let His truth penetrate your heart and mind. It is what you continually say that comes to pass in your life. As Abraham said in Romans 4:1-21, “Against hope believe in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be….”

I know you have received a promise from God that only you and He share. I know their is a burning on the inside that only comes from what you heard the Master whisper in your ear. I know you want what God has for you. This is your time, this is your season–walk into it and make no excuse, –for what God has for you it is for YOU!

Not only did Abraham and Sarah have a son, but they lived long enough to raise him. I believe God is birthing out promises in the lives of His people at this hour for the reaping of a bountiful harvest that will be a blessing for many years to come. Not only will you birth your promise, but you will live to reap the benefits of the promise. Not that’s what I call victory! Believe that, and walk in the spirit of your faith today. If God doesn’t consider the natural limitations of your situation, you shouldn’t either. For YOU walk by faith, not by sight.

Be blessed….

Is Your Ghost Holy?

This past weekend was more than a success by all accounts. The rain was pouring down but the citizens of Paris showed up consistently in both locations. The morning of May 9th at Hastings, the people were lined up before my daughter and I made it.

Then later that afternoon at Living Water Bookstore, the rain was falling by the buckets, and the people kept entering the store. Thank God. My daughter Ariole and I were all smiles and appreciate the citizens of Lamar County, Hugo and Dallas for showing up. Book Signing Supporters for "Is Your Ghost Holy?"

Walking by faith is not easy sometimes. If it were, everyone would be doing it. But as children of God, we must believe that every Word of His is true and act accordingly. God knows about our every situation. Hearing the Word of God is key to walking by faith and once you’ve experienced the awesome working power of His abilities, your walk with God will be more spiritually fullfilling.
